About Me

I’m Dr. John Petrone—educator, veteran, and fighter for democracy.

Educator: Current Associate Professor of Educational Administration, former high school principal, and longtime teacher of U.S. history, government, world history, and economics. I’ve spent decades showing students how civic knowledge is the strongest defense against tyranny.

Veteran & Working Class: Six years in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, years of hard labor on a highway department crew, and shifts in my familys restaurant kitchen and behind the bar—real-world experiences that ground me in the struggles of everyday Americans.

Researcher & Storyteller: From shark research on the open water to educational analysis in the classroom, I approach every subject with curiosity, rigor, and persistence.

Each chapter of my life has reinforced one lesson: democracy isn’t self-sustaining—we either defend it or watch it die.
